After witnessing Harry Kane shine in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich continues to head to the Premier League to look for reinforcements.
Raphael Varane
Erik ten Hag’s recent decision to leave the World Cup winner on the bench and choose Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans at the heart of defense has surprised many. Accordingly, information that Varane was on his way out of Old Trafford soon appeared.
Bayern are monitoring Varane’s situation with a bold offer in January. Famous German journalist Florian Plettenberg said the defending Bundesliga champion could spend 20 million to 30 million euros to own the French star.
“Interesting but currently unrealistic because of his salary,” Plettenberg shared. “It’s not a hot topic yet, but he’s still being watched in the coming weeks.”
Joao Palhinha
The Portuguese international was very close to the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2023 but in the end, the deal could not be completed. Palhinha signed a new long-term contract at Craven Cottage, but that was only a move to help Fulham increase his selling price.
“Of course he is still on our radar,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund told SportBild in October.
“The club worked hard with Palhinha in the summer. It was a bit strange on the last day of the transfer window. You never know what will happen.”
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Another exclusive information revealed by Plettenberg is that Bayern made every effort to sign Tomiyasu from Arsenal in the summer. The Gray Tigers are said to be impressed by the flexibility, enthusiasm and ability to play football from Tomiyasu’s defense.
Arsenal does not want to let Tomiyasu leave and has also informed Bayern that the Japanese international will not be sold in the winter transfer window, even if he is just Mikel Arteta’s backup plan.
Plettenberg has spoken of “a potential move next summer” but it will be interesting to see whether Bayern make the move come January.
Trevoh Chalobah
Chalobah is yet to play a minute this season and Football.london reports that Chelsea are ready to sell the youngster.
It should be remembered that Tuchel is the coach who brought Chalobah a breakthrough at Stamford Bridge. The German strategist also strongly promoted the signing of this defender in the final stages of the 2023 summer transfer period.
Eric Dier
After Kane, Tottenham’s experienced defender, Dier was sought after by Bayern. The English star is no longer in top form, but Bild reports that Bayern still wants to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at Spurs next summer and could be sold for a lower fee in January, although Micky van de Ven’s recent injury has given Dier the opportunity to play regularly under Ange Postecoglou.
